2/21/10 UPDATE

Congrats to the Sixth Grade Band for their fine performance at the Patriotic Day assembly on campus Friday. We are proud of these young musicians, who received many compliments about their performance from those in attendance.

Monday, March 1 - Features Pageant, JA Performing Arts Center, 7:00. Jazz Band participation details TBA

Saturday, April 10 - The Township Jazz Festival at the Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland. Time and other details TBA. Click on the logo above for more information about this event, spearheaded by prominent local musician Raphael Semmes.

JACKSON INDEPENDENT WINTERGUARD

FLORIDA TRIP

The guard will be traveling to the Patriot Classic, a Gulf Coast Color Guard & Percussion Circuit event at Pace HS, FL. They will depart Saturday morning, March 20, and return to JA at approximately 7 pm on Sunday, March 21.

For family members who wish to accompany the guard on the trip, there will be about four extra free seats available on the bus. Please let Cammie know if you plan to ride the bus or drive separately.

The guard will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Orange Beach Beachfront. To make reservations for family members, please call the hotel at 251.974.1600, or click on the following link to make arrangements online:

This Saturday, February 27, the guard will be competing at SOUTHAVEN HS. This week's JI Winterguard schedule:

TUESDAY - Rehearsal 4:00 - 7:00, Activities Center (old gym)

SATURDAY -

11:00 - 1:00 - Rehearsal @ JA
1:00 - Lunch (provided)
1:30 - Load truck
2:00 - Depart for Southaven HS
5:00 - Arrive Southaven, unload, change
6:15 - Warmup
6:45 - Performance
8:00 - Retreat
8:30 - Depart, fast food dinner stop
12:00 (approximate) - Return to JA
