1/17/10 UPDATE

The latest JA Band "FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS" flyer was emailed to all parents this week. Please let us know if you need another copy. The flyer contains general program information as well as specific dates and details for the 2010 season. Hopefully both Sixth Grade and current JA Band families will find it useful.

JACKSON ACADEMY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER NEWS

The Jazz Band will perform at the PAC Ribbon Cutting, which has been rescheduled for this Tuesday. Here is the information about the event from the JA website:

"The Jackson Academy Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a ribbon-cutting for the school’s newly constructed Performing Arts Center, which is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19 at 4:00 pm. Following the ceremony, an open house will be held for the public. A brief program will follow with Jackson Academy faculty and staff presenting key features of the new center that will enhance students’ opportunities in the performing arts. Please join us as we celebrate the grand opening of this new addition to JA. For additional information, the official press release is viewable at the link below."

Jazz Band members should bring concert black attire to change into after school on Tuesday. Please join us for this milestone event on the JA campus.

SECTIONALS

Due to the Monday holiday, this week's revised sectional schedule is as follows:

TUESDAY - all saxes, clarinets, and flutes - 2:45 - 3:45
WEDNESDAY - percussion
THURSDAY - trumpets
FRIDAY - low brass

JACKSON INDEPENDENT WINTERGUARD

The JI Winterguard will have rehearsal this week on Tuesday, January 19, from 4:00 - 6:00.

The group's first performance event will be the MIA Field Day on Saturday, January 30. All guard members need to have black knit dance pants before Field Day.
